Chief Magistrate Linda Yeside Balogun of Yaba Chief Magistrate Court, Lagos has ordered the remand of five suspects, who were accused of killing Oba Odetola Olajide Ayinde, the Olu of Agodo Town, Ewekoro, Oguns State.

The five suspects ordered to be remanded in the custody of Police Zonal Monitoring Unit, Zone 2 Onikan, Lagos State are: FATAI Ramon; Monsuru Ramon; Adeniyi Samuel Omonla Akinjiyan; Femi Akinjiyan and Olatidede Ojo.

Chief Magistrate Balogun ordered that the suspected killers of the late monarch be remanded sequel to motion Exparte filed and argued by the police lawyer, Morufu Animashaun, of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (ForceCID) Annex, Alagbon-Ikoyi, Lagos.

Animashaun had told the court that the remand application is pursuant to
Sections: 264(2)(2)(3)(4) and (6) &and 267 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos State, 2021 (As Amended); Section 4 and 10 of the Police Act and Sections 6 (6), 35 {1) (C), (5) and (7)(a) of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended)

It would be recalled that Chief Magistrate Balogun had on February 11, ordered the remand of two suspects over their alleged role in the murder of the late monarch.

The two murder suspects earlier ordered to be remanded for 30 days were; Lukman Azeez and Abiodun Sanyaolu.

Chief Magistrate Balogun upon granting the remand order of the five murder Suspects for 22 days, in consolidation to the earlier order granted. i

The matter has been adjourned till March 11, for report of Investigations.

All the seven suspects and other still at large, according to an affidavit attached with the motion Exparte and sworn to by on Adeyemi Akeem, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) attached to Zonal Monitoring Unit, Zone 2, 0nikan, Lagos, are being investigated on alleged conspiracy to murder late Oba Odetola Olajide Ayinde, the Olu of Agodo Town, arson, and attempted murder
