Justice Rahman Oshodi of the Special Offences Court in Ikeja has remanded the embattled former Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN Governor Godwin Emefiele to the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Monday.
This was after he was docked and pleaded not guilty to $4.5billion and N2.8 billion naira.
The defendant was arraigned on an amended information of a 23-count charge by the EFCC, on alledged offences bordering on abuse of office, accepting gratification, accepting gifts through agents, corruption, and fraudulent property receipt.
Also, remanded at the Ikoyi Correctional facility was his co-defendant, Henry Omoile after he also pleaded not guilty specifically to count 5 to 7.
