ASP Drambi Vandi, and Late Mrs Bolanle Raheem

A Yaba Chief Magistrate Court on Friday remanded killer cop, ASP Drambi Vandi at the Ikoyi Correctional Center pending the conclusion of investigations by the police over his shooting to death of Mrs Bolanle Raheem on Christmas day.
The remand is sequel to a one count charge of murder filed before the court personally by The Lagos State Attorney-General, Moyosore Onigbanjo SAN

The charge, obtained reads: “That you ASP Drambi Vandi on the 25th day of December 2022, at Ajah Road, along the Lekki Expressway, Lagos, unlawfully killed one Omobolanle Raheem by shooting the deceased in the chest contrary to Section 223 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2015″. The charge was signed by the state Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), Dr Babajide Martins.

With the charge, the Attorney General applied for the remand of the defendant pursuant to Section 264 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos, 2015. He said that the basis for the remand is to allow the police conclude its investigations into the matter.

The Chief Magistrate, Miss Adeola Olatunbosun granted the request, and ordered the defendant to be remanded at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre. She further ordered that the case file be duplicated and sent to the DPP, Dr. Martins for legal advice.

She thereafter adjourned to January 30, 2023 to await legal advice.
