Contrary to an online publication that First bank head office or a branch of the bank has been sealed, the bank has debunked such claim as a misrepresentation of fact and the imagination of the writer.

First Bank made the clarification in a press statement issued by Mr Kehinde O Taiwo of the bank’s Marketing and Corporate Communications Department

The statement said the story about sealing of the bank’s head office or branch was a misrepresentation of facts and misleading, adding that neither did any of the bank branches nor it’s head office sealed at any time.

Giving insight as to what actually happened on the 4th of August, 2022, the lender said there was an unlawful enforcement of a garnishee order granted by a Federal High Court, Abuja at the bank’s Coomassie House branch, an order the bank is currently challenging in court.

The statement stated that while the bank has taken appropriate legal steps to deal with the situation, it is reassuring it’s numerous customers of unhindered banking services and unique customer experience in all it’s branches and countless alternative channels.

“While First Bank has taken appropriate legal steps to deal with the situation, we wish to reassure our customers of unhindered banking services and unique customer experience in all our branches and through our numerous alternative channels” the statement reads.
