The vice presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Kashim Shettima, has said his principal, Bola Tinubu, will “permanently retire” the presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, to Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2023.

Shettima, who also took a swipe at Atiku over the crisis rocking the PDP ahead of the 2023 general election, said the former Vice President lacks the experience to lead the country.

The former governor of Borno State said this during the presentation of Tinubu’s campaign manifesto, Action Plan for Better Nigeria, to the business and organised private sector leaders at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island in Lagos State on Tuesday.

Shettima, who described the PDP presidential candidate as a “political tourist”, expressed confidence that Tinubu will “retire” Atiku to Dubai in 2023.

He said: “I respect Atiku Abubakar, but leadership goes beyond high-scale antics. Someone who can’t unite his party, I wonder how he is going unite this country.

Q“We are talking about artificial intelligence or big data or nanotechnology, but the training that an elder statesman got from Kano School of Hygiene was that of wole wole.

“The ability to sell bottled water doesn’t make one an expert on the economy. My parting shot is that Atiku Abubakar is not Abraham Lincoln; he is Raila Odinga and come May next year, we are going to permanently retire the political tourist back to Dubai,” Shettima stated.
